7:00 AM: Pick you up at your hotel/stay in Hue city and transfer to the DMZ Tour Vietnam Bay area in Quang Tri
8:00 AM: Quang Tri Citadel is a historical site of a 19th-century fort on the bank of Thach Han River, in the heart of Quang Tri town, Quang Tri province, Vietnam. The citadel once hosted the administration office of the Nguyen dynasty (1802–1945), and later that of the French colonial regime and the American-backed southern regime, while also functioning as a military defense system.
On Highway 9, you have a chance to see Rock Pile Hill. It is one of the US military bases and was used as a watch tower to observe the activities of the Vietnam People’s Army in the demilitarized zone in Quang Tri Province from 1966 to 1968.
Then stop to visit Dakrong bridge. It is a midway along Highway 9, and is the starting point of Highway 15, one of the main branches of the Ho Chi Minh Trail, which leads south to the A Shau valley and the infamous “Hamburger Hill”. Though not entirely legitimate, there is a monument commemorating it as a point on the Ho Chi Minh Trail.
Continue the trip to visit Khe Sanh combat base, a large Marine base camp attacked by massive forces of the North Vietnamese Army in early 1968.
12:30 PM: Come back High way 1 to have lunch at a local restaurant in Dong Ha town.
2:00 PM: You continue to visit Hien Luong Bridge and the Ben Hai River. After the Geneva agreement, the river was the only actual demarcation line between the North and South of Vietnam.
3:00 PM : Visit Vinh Moc tunnel which is famous for the underground villages constructed to avoid bombardments during the American War (1965-1966).The complex includes wells, kitchens, rooms for each family, and spaces for healthcare.
5:00 PM: finish DMZ tour in Hue city.
